EVENTS in addition to our 50th Reunion
NOTE:  The events listed are completely separate from the Class of 63's 50th Reunion, but for those interested in extending the weekend festivities these events may interest you.  (more info can be obtained by accessing the "Wilkinsburg High School Alumni (1940-1975) Group on Facebook)
WHS ALL CLASSES REUNION PITTSBURGH PENNSYLVANIA

JULY 4TH,  6TH AND 7TH 2013

JULY 4, 2013 – Wyndham Grand Hotel (formerly The Hilton)
600 Commonwealth Place Downtown Pittsburgh-across from Point State Park – 6PM – Scenes Lobby Lounge – A meet and greet before we watch the fireworks at Point State Park.


July 6, 2013 – KENNYWOOD PARK – 11 AM – midnight (ticket price will be known early 2013) - We will have a shelter to meet at throughout the day. 2:30 -class pictures in the shelter – 6:30 – best matching tee shirts contest (classes or groups of friends are encouraged to design and wear matching tee shirts.)

July 7, 2013 – Picnic at Frick Park – bring your own basket and blanket. 1 PM – 9 PM – (if you have horse shoe game or other picnic games we encourage you to bring them.)

The cost to attend all these events is free except for Kennywood. The only cost to you is what you plan on spending at each event

Update on the

The "All Class Reuion Weekend" for July 4th, to July 7th is still on.  Tickets for the Kennywood Day on Saturday, July 6th can be purchased online (www.kennywood.com) or on the day of the event at the park. Senior Fun day tickets (55 and older) are $19.99 for the all day pass.

If we have enough Class of '63 classmates interested in attending the Kennywood Day on Saturday, July 6th we can look into possibly getting tee-shirts made up for our group.  They are planning a judging of the group tee's on Saturday evening at the pavalion they have reserved for WHS.  Let Don Kight know if interested (DonWhsClassof63@aol.com).

Time to get Registered!

Just a friendly reminder that our 50th reunion is quickly approaching. Remember the Deadline for Registering and paying Online or by Check is June 21, 2013.
Even if you are not able to attend, please access the website and click on your name under the "Classmates" page where you can write up a brief profile of your life since graduation.

The Full weekend festivities are still planned including the Kennywood Day.  Donald Kight

As part of the Kennywood Day event, we have designed custom T-Shirts that are available for purchase.  The T-Shirts (see photos below) are available thru CustomInk.com and are available to all (even if you are not attending the Kennywood event) in various sizes for $17.00. 
The T-Shirts are 100% Cotton in school colors - Red with Blue writing and designs.  The back of the T-shirt has the WHS Tiger with "Pittsburghese" sayings ("Nuh-uh?" "S-up", "Hauscome", "These unz", Etc.)

 Please use the following link to order your exact size thru the CustomInk.com website, but you must send your payment to me as the website does not accept individual payments.  The T-Shirt can be ordered until June 15th.  Once you select the number of T-shirts and sizes you desire please send me your payment.  I will make a bulk payment after June 15th and pay for our entire order.  The T-shirts will then be shipped to my address and will be distributed Friday evening at our Reunion.  If you need your T-shirt shipped to your home address, please include an additional $6.25 for postage.  Please note:  I must have your payment by June 15th.

Deadline: One Month away

We are now only one Month away from the deadline (June 21, 2013) for registering for our 50th reunion.  To Date the following classmates have registered to attend on July 5, 2013:  Bill Bearinger, Marilyn (Bishop) Hulvey, Judy (Brawdy) & Jim Liddell, Norris (Happy) Clark, Karenlee (Creighton) Robinson, LeiLani (Duncan) Seth, David Gompert, Ed Hauck, Patricia (Merola) Dunnivan, George Myers, Tom Parke, Bob Quigley, Rick Reed, Judy (Sensabaugh) Headley, Joe (Moe) Sprankle, Joan (Tamarelli) Frederick, Robert Thomas, Janet (Young) & Jim Ummer and myself.  Thanks to all who have completed their registrations.  The out of Stater's are outshining the in-State classmates.  We have 13 out of state classmates who have registered and only 8 from Pennsylvania.  Our original commitment is for 85 attendees (Classmates & Guests) and to date we only have a total of 31.   In this last month we need to get people motivated to join in on this very special event.   If you have already registered and have contact with other classmates who have not - please encourage them to join in.

Special note:  If there are classmates who are interested in attending but are having problems with the costs of the Reunion, please don't let that cause you to miss what promises to be a very special evening.   If the registration cost is a problem, please contact me directly (phone or email) and we can set up a monthly payment schedule.  I will cover your registration fee and you can pay me back in installments that better meet your needs.  In this case DO NOT register thru the website, but contact me and I will register you.  I want to make sure everyone has a chance to join in on this special event.

DIRECTIONS to Comfort Inn and Edgewood CC.
Directions:
For those staying at Comfort Inn - Take Parkway East (I-376E) to Monroeville exit (81). Turn Left onto Rodi Road(PA 791N). Follow Rodi Rd to Maple Lane. Tune Right onto Maple Lane which leads up to Comfort Inn.
There will be a shuttle between the Comfort Inn and the Edgewood CC, but for those driving from the the Comfort Inn - follow Maple Lane down to Rodi Rd. Turn Left onto Rodi Rd and follow signs to Monroeville. Go straight across Wm Penn Hiway and onto Nottingham Dr. Nottingham becomes Homer Dr - follow up to Churchill Road. Turn Left onto Churchill Rd and follow to 100 Churchill Rd.

Bring along your cameras!

Any good Photographers in the class?  We will not have a professional photographer taking pictures.  Five Star staff will be taking pictures but if any classmates are amateur photographers please bring your cameras along Friday night. After the reunion I will attempt to collect the best of the bunch and put together a booklet of memories from the night.  Thanks!
